Chez Eric - Panorama Hotel Mercure Freiburg in Freiburg im Breisgau

We had a wonderful and culinary evening at Chez Eric. The menu was excellent, the wine was always perfect. Top service with charm and wit. If we are back in Freiburg, we will definitely come back! Many Thanks!

Ohh CHEZ ERIC, is simply excellent, very classy. The food tastes very tasty, fine cuisine, fine atmosphere, great service, best location in Freiburg. Those who like it more classic and opulent will definitely feel very comfortable. I can only recommend it, it's worth the money. Unfortunately I haven't taken any pictures yet, but the next time I go there ?

Thoughtful staff, best southwest view of Freiburg Altstadt and sunset over Kaiserstuhl. Easy access to forest trails. As exhibited by many 'view' restaurants, food prices reflect an approximate 50% markup and average quality.

I can highly recommend this restaurant! Find the guest house in keeping with the times for all occasions, irrespective of whether you are with a partner, friends or relatives. The wait staff are always extremely hard-working and always polite! I would have loved to taste me first, but then there would be no space for that been great feed more.

It was incredibly delicious with a beautiful view. The service was great. Where I usually only get quizzical glances from the waiter, gluten-free alternatives have been taken into account here. An all-round successful evening!

Eating on the terrace is a real treat, because the view is magnificent! too bad for the wasp invasion ... the vegetarian menu is very good ... except the cold cucumber soup: way too salty! a touch of garlic, a little fresh mint or dill would have added something more. The breadstick was so hard that I couldn't bite it! real concrete. On the other hand the entry was very original, the main course tasty and the dessert very ... German!

Surprisingly good, I would not have expected something like that from the restaurant, where breakfast is usually relatively uncomplicated in the morning. Simple but good desserts, attentive and friendly service. A double-edged sword in terms of location: the view of the city is great, but if you weren't traveling by car, it should be best.

For my part, I would have preferred to try it out first, but then there would have been no more space for the unique feed . There you don't get the feeling like eating fish in a can in the evening, I was absolutely positively surprised. We will definitely be back.

We would like to share the 5 star ratings of others. Unfortunately on June 10th the chef was not in the kitchen himself, you could taste it. We have eaten much better here. Too bad our event deserved it. Service as always attentive. Nice table with a great view

We went to eat in the restaurant on 06/03/2020. The service is terrific, the view unbeatable and the menu offers something for every taste. Our steaks came as ordered (medium) and were not over-spiced, as you know from other restaurants. Would recommend Chez Eric right now!

Upscale German cuisine with a French touch. Super panoramic view and friendly, polite staff. A star minus for the old-fashioned interior and for the fact that the waitress forgot my glass of wine.

It was a unique experience to dine there. We were really served great, and this, even though we were not outwardly dressed and elite compliant in the restaurant. The friendliness of the staff is impressive. The food was unique outstanding. We would give 10 stars, if it were possible. Top! We can not show anything comparable in Hamburg. We will come back as soon as possible. Only because of this restaurant we will probably stop in Freiburg for a stopover ...

We were spontaneously with friends and loved it. Of course it is expensive, but it is worth to enjoy this view, the service and the grandiose food! Being here once in your life should be the goal of every Freiburger. The two service people who served us, have also liked to do that and you rarely experience anything like that. Here one is gladly served. If you change your order spontaneously, you are more than happy to do it, instead of leaving a stupid slogan or an angry look. You have to say almost nothing, the desire is fulfilled almost independently. Thank you for the lovely evening!

Absolutely terrific, sensational food, really a culinary delight, excellent service and a super nice view over Freiburg. That was 100% perfect.

Great panoramic view of Freiburg, antiquated food, slow (but friendly) service. Recommended for people aged 60+ who don't care much for "modern" food trends like vegetarian, vegan, international cuisine. Very good traditional food in small portions, at relatively high prices.

It was the first time we visit Freiburg and stayed in the Mercure Panorama Hotel. “Chez Eric” is in the hotel and after a long drive it was natural to have dinner there. The restaurant has amazing panoramic views above the city of Freiburg im Brisgau and I suppose in the summer you can dine outside on the terrace. The staff serving in the restaurant is very young but also very friendly but professional. Every time we made eye contact we’ve got a smile back, from every single staff member. During the evening, Stephan, a charming young man, guided us through the menu and thanks to him and his colleagues we had a great experience. The food is very good, prepared with care and presented with love. The combination with wine, offered in their “des amoureux” menu was well done as every single wine complimented the dish we were having. The atmosphere is romantic, with candles on the table and subtle music. Altogether, when in Freiburg, I advise you to dine in this restaurant as you’ll get value for your buck.

No doubt the best in the region place as for seafood and service. There is also fantastic view to the city and mountains. Really recommend for business meeting, romantic date or family gathering event.
